Bloomberg - Marathon Canceled.

The NYC Marathon has been running since 1970. It has been where runners have made their history.  Due to the destruction of Superstorm/Frankenstorm/Huriccane Sandy,  millions of New Yorkers have been in a state of emergency. New Yorkers have been patient but as the hours go by they watch Mayor Bloomberg focus more on the cleaning of the areas where the marathon is held than worrying about the the victims of this horrific storm.
Mayor Micheal Bloomberg  decided to cancel the marathon not because of the millions of New Yorkers that are feeling the aftermath, but because of heavy criticism of elected officials.  Mayor Bloomberg at first insisted on the marathon but elected officials were not having it. When the Mayor spoke about insisting on the Marathon he tried to defend by stating he was trying to bring NYers back together just like the marathon did back when 911 happened.
In a way he was trying to give NYers hope by insisting on the marathon but NYers are not concerned for a marathon. Some are trying to pick up what is left of their homes. Some are shivering in the dark because there is no light or heat. Some barely have food to eat and no help has reached out to them..
Sorry Mayor Bloomberg right now is the time to build personal compassion for your fellow NYers. A marathon is not going to cut it for those house broken, and or hurting. Lets just say NYers do sit down to watch this marathon, after its done the tv goes off  and they are looking at their surroundings with deep sadness, with very little  strength to pick up the peices. What should've happened was those athletic marathoners should've volunteered to help instead of worrying about a marathon. 1/4th of the country is hurting and it seems as though few people care.
